Meet the Owls

Meet a live Barn Owl and Great Horned Owl up close and
learn about how they live and sound. These two owls
cannot be released to the wild. However, wild Barn Owls
and Great Horned Owls live in Rose Canyon.
Bring: a mat or tarp to sit on; we'll walk down the
trail into the park and sit on the ground.
Bring water and sunscreen.
Meet: Dead end of Regents Rd. in South University City,
intersection of Regents/Lahitte Ct.
(two blocks north on Regents from Governor Drive)
No bathrooms or water available at trailhead or in
the park

Learn to Imitate Bird Calls
(kids are better at this than adults)

Leader: Nicole Perretta
Learn to imitate birds so you can interact with wild
birds and enhance your bird watching experience. Learn
where and when to use calls and which get the best responses.
Bring water to keep your throat moist. Nicole can imitate
158 bird calls (she started learning at age 6). She
has performed on TV and teaches workshops throughout
the western U.S.
